Specializing in home theater, serving central Texas What size screen is right for me?

By Aaron Reilly

What size screen is best for any given application is affected by many things.  Some are listed below and more are covered by the video at the bottom of the page.

  • larger screens of any type=
    • a more cinema-like, immersive viewing experience.
    • Bigger pixels (fewer pixels per square inch will become visible to the human eye at some point)
  • larger projection screens =
    • less brightness per square inch of screen from the projector
    • reduced contrast due to lower white level mentioned above
  • Content is King =
    • HD sources actualy look better on bigger screens (to a limit)
    • Non-HD sources will look poor on larger screen sizes even on an HDTV
  • Careful analysis of your room's viewing environment and your desired content makes it possible for us to recommend the exact right screen size to maximize your seating distance and system resolution.  See below for the video analysis of our demo theater.  Note that analysis is done to optimize the balance of performance between the front and back rows of seating.

Contact us to have your room professionally analyzed to determine proper screen size.
